The Replace tab- Search for and replace a string in the document

With Replace, you can search for strings in the document (or in open documents) and replace them with something else. The Replace tab has six main controls:

- The "Find text" field where you enter the text to search for.

- The "Replace with" field where you enter the text to replace it with.

- The "Replace" button to start the step-by-step replacement.

- The "Replace All" button to start replacing all occurrences found.

- The "Find Next" button to start searching for the next string.

- The list of criteria applicable to the search and replace function.

In the "Find text" field, you must enter the string you want to search for in the document. This field has a special list containing the strings entered in previous searches. The number of searches that the field stores depends on the setting in the program's general OPTIONS.

The string can consist of simple characters, special sequences composed with a marker, or special wildcard characters. The field has an associated context menu where, in addition to the cut, copy, and paste commands, there is a Wildcards submenu containing all the special characters that can be used.
